DIM2 Labelling on Packaging

The New European Directive introduced DIM2 (Domestic Implementation Measures 2) in September 2013 with an aim to increase customer satisfaction with energy saving lamps.

Under DIM2 regulations packaging must state the following:

  • An energy efficiency label
  • Lumens
  • Colour temperature
  • Lifetime in hours
  • Number of switching cycles
  • Lamp dimensions
  • Beam angle
  • Energy consumption in kilowatt-hours

The aim with all modern packaging is to be clear and concise so that the customer can understand the product they are purchasing, and where it fits with today’s energy efficiency standards.

Under the new regulations, the lamp itself should also be labelled correctly with the relevant information.

What this means to you

When purchasing a lamp, we aim to be as clear and concise as the product packaging. We can give you the information you need for your change in lighting whether you need just one light bulb, or looking at an entire project.
