Connected Light strengthens cyber security commitment with Cyber Essentials

Connected Light has achieved Cyber Essentials certification, strengthening its commitment to cyber security, trusted project delivery and supply chain assurance.

Cyber Essentials is the minimum standard of cyber security recommended by the UK Government for organisations of all sizes. Developed by the National Cyber Security Centre, the scheme is aligned to five technical controls designed to protect businesses against the most common internet-based cyber security threats.

For Connected Light, certification is an important step in supporting clients across sensitive, technical and compliance-led environments. The company works with defence, MOD, Government secure sites, data centres, public sector organisations, healthcare settings, education providers and commercial facilities.

The certification provides clients, contractors and project partners with additional confidence that Connected Light has taken practical steps to protect its systems, data and digital processes.

It also supports supplier assurance for organisations that require or value recognised cyber security standards, including:

  • Defence and MOD environments
  • Government secure sites
  • Data centres and critical infrastructure
  • NHS, councils and public sector organisations
  • Banks and large corporations

Matt Holway, director at Connected Light, said:

“Our work often involves complex, sensitive and technically demanding environments, so it is important that clients can trust the way we operate. Achieving Cyber Essentials certification is part of our wider commitment to high standards, responsible project delivery and continuous improvement across the business.”

This is particularly valuable for clients assessing suppliers on security, resilience and operational readiness standards.

Connected Light was supported through the certification process by its IT solutions partner, Enhanced Group in Bristol. The company is now progressing towards Cyber Essentials Plus, which includes more rigorous independent technical testing.

Matt added:

“Cyber Essentials is not just about meeting a requirement. It shows clients that we understand the importance of cyber security and are taking practical steps to protect the way we work.”
